Launched for 2015

After a long winters nap, we launched the boat on Friday. The Blackfoot received a complete paint job over the winter. Shake down cruise has yet to be taken, but will be done this week and ready to search for the fish.

Finally some bass

Had Brian and his family aboard today for steady rod bending action the entire trip. Although the majority of the fish were dogs, the kids had a blast. Boated 6 stripers, keeping three for the table, Hopefully this is finally the start of some decent bass fishing,

A little better

Last nights fishing saw a little more activity. Bluefish were hitting mostly, a few bass boated with one keeper at 29″. Now the storm hits and will change everything again. Bunker pods on the ocean have been producing large bluefish, haven’t been able to get past them for bass.

Fishing Still Slow

Tried the ocean and inlet this weekend. Mostly short fluke and dogfish in the ocean. Only found big bluefish on the bunker pods. The inlet produced a few short bass and one keeper. Also a four pound fluke on clams while bass fishing. As the water warms hopefully the usual action will start.

Slow fishing

The last few trips have had some spotty bass fishing. Today we had 4 bass on but all were shorts. On the positive side, bait are moving in and water temps are on the rise. Hopefully soon the bass will appear.

Spring Fishing

The start of the season has seen our charters mostly landing skate and bluefish. A few small stripers have been boated, but nothing close to keeper size. The water temps in the inlet are still on the cold side. The incoming tide has been producing the most fish.
